ELF Makeup Mist & Set

Hi Guys

I've found Setting sprays have been seen every where recently on youtube. So of course I needed to start trying them out. So far I've only tried this one from ELF but I have heard the NYX one is really nice but everytime I go to buy one it's sold out. Which must be telling me it's good right?

Anyway back to the ELF setting spray. This one contains Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber and vitamins A, C & E and has very little fragrance to it. It costs £3.95 and you get 60mls which is a good size. Having never used a setting spray before I wasn't sure whether it really was making my makeup last longer. But on the days when I haven't used It think I can defintely notice a difference.

Something which I've also seen setting sprays used for is eyeshadows. It can make shimmery eyeshadows even more shimmery and brighter which can give a really nice effect on the eye lid so I use this for that too. It's also really nice just to mist over your face in the hot weather to cool you down.

Any other setting sprays you guys can recommend then please leave me a comment below.

Liquid Liners

Hi Guys

I'm going to be reviewing the liquid liners I have or currently are still using.
Liquid liners to me are my favourite type of liner over pencils and gels. My eyes are fairly hooded so I find a liner that dries is best as pencils and gels tend to always transfer up on to my eye.

The two liners I'm loving and using most days at the moment are both Loreal liners.
First one is the Super Liner Perfect Slim. Which has a fine feltip nib, that is firm but not solid. This one is lovely and really easy for making a really thin line across the lid. And because the nib goes to such a point it's really good for winging out and getting that really crisp flick. It feels really nice to hold too. This one costs £6.99 from Superdrug.

The next one is the Super Liner Black Laquer. This has a similar nib although it is a lot softer and has more movement. Also the point is not such a sharp point as the one above but you can still get a nice flick with it. I have to say this is definitely one of the blackest liners I've ever used. You do need to make sure you give this one a shake and you can hear a little ball clicking as you do this inside. This one costs £6.49 from Superdrug.

Two other liners I've tried and I think are very similar to each other are the Collection Fast Stroke and the ELF Liquid Liner. Both of these liners have a sharp point for the nib which is great, and both are very hard nibs. There's only one slight difference between these two liners and that is that the ELF one is slightly less opaque. But as long as you give it 2 coats it's fine. The Collection liner costs £2.99 and the ELF one is £3.95.

The longevity of all the liners mentioned are really good. If anything the collection one will crumble but not until right at the end of the day. And to be honest that's when I have rubbed my tired little eyes haha. But by far the Loreal ones are my faves!

Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara

Hi Guys

Time for a mascara review. Not done one of these for a while. And obviously you read the title and know which one I'm talking about. But Incase your not sure what it looks like I will add in a picture here :-).
On the front of this mascara it says 'Grow lash complex + fibres'. So seeing this I though ahh fab my lashes will be super duper long and luscious because of this fibre technique. However on application I was a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong it did make my lashes a nice length although (without bragging) i do find my lashes to be quite good with most mascaras. And this one didn't seem to be doing anything extra for me. I've never had a fibres mascara before, but I have looked at them and thought about buying one, because you can normally see the little fibres on the wand. But on closer inspection with this wand, it just looks like any other mascara to me. You can't see any fibres, which made me doubt the whole fibre technology thing.
As a normal mascara it's fine. Like I say it does add length and volume to my lashes, but I have found it doesn't give me anything extra than other mascaras without fibres do. This one cost me £7.99 from Boots.

I'm definitely not saying I wouldn't re-purchase it because I would, but if there were other new ones out to try I would probably try them first.

W7 Dupes

Hi Guys

Currently sitting writing this blog whilst listening to the rain bucketing down thinking "I've got to go out in that shortly!" Ergh! Never mind.

Right, so W7 makeup! The more I have really looked at some the items the more I've realised how many dupes for High end makeup they do. I have bought a couple of them to see what there like, and I have to say especially with eye shadows, if you use a good eyelid primer they last really well. And in actual fact have good pigmentation.
The main palette I'm talking about here is what w7 call 'In The Nude' which is a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 3. I had been toying with the idea of buying the naked 3, although I wasn't sure the colour range would suit me as it's very pink toned and to be honest I don't really use many pinky colours on my eyes. So I decided this would be brilliant as it was a lot cheaper than the naked 3 and if I didn't like the colours I wasn't wasting £40. So here's what the w7 one looks like.
As you can see it's got the same tin style casing which is similar colour, and then the eyeshadows which again are all very similar. The one big difference is that this one doesn't have a morrow on the lid like other naked palettes do. It cost me £6.99 and for the price I think it's a really good dupe if your not wanting to spend £40 or like me not sure if the colours would suit you.

The next w7 item I picked up recently is the Honolulu bronzing powder which is a dupe for the Benefit Hoola Bronzer. It's packaging is very similar, comes in the box form and with a little brush (which I have to say I'm loving using for contouring).
Here's what the w7 bronzer looks like.
This cost me just £2.99. I haven't actually tried the Benefit Hoola bronzer, only swatched it, but I have to say this is in my eyes a good bronzer. Especially for contouring because it has no shimmer in it at all. I'm normally one that loves my Sleek contour kit and the colour, powder texture and longevity is exactly the same. I know with some cheaper bronzes I've had before can be very orangey but this one definitely isn't. The little brush you get with it is really soft and the shape is perfect for carving out your cheek bones on going down the side of your nose.

This bronzer and palette is definitely good for anyone who is maybe starting out in makeup and doesn't want to spend too much money on products whilst practicing or if your like me and just love a bargain product that works!

After trying out these 2 w7 products I will definitely be trying more. I know they do the dupe for the naked 2, and I've seen that they also do dupes for the Benefit Rocketeur and Coralista blushers which I will be trying. (Have a slight obsession with blushers). And why not at these prices!

Brush Egg

Hi Guys

If you follow my youtube channel then you may have watched the video I did on cleaning my makeup brushes.
I bought the brush egg from IMATS. For a long time if have been looking for something to use to help making cleaning my brushes quicker and easier. I had thought about purchasing the sigma brush cleaning glove but that's £39.99 and I just couldn't justify spending that much on something that just looks like a silicone oven glove. Haha. I was convinced I would be able to find something that does the same job but was cheaper. And I did.
This little beauty cost me just £6 and I think to buy them normally they are only £8 which is still a fab price.
It is, as the name suggests in the shape of an egg. Although one side is flat with ridges on. They came in several different colours and I got the mint green as I love all pastels at the moment.nthe material is also silicone so is easy to keep clean between uses.
It has definitely made what sometimes can be a mundane job a little more enjoyable because of how quick it makes the process.
All I do is squirt a little bit of baby shampoo on the egg, dampen my brush and swirl it around in circular motions. You can see all the product coming out quickly, then you can just rinse the brush under the tap to remove the soap and your done.

I have to say I do love seeing all my clean brushes laid out drying. It just feels so satisfying don't you think? Or is that just me? Haha.

Ben Nye Banana Powder

Hi Guys

I have been noticing this powder on a lot of videos on youtube for quite a while, so naturally whilst I was at IMATS this year I had to buy it and try it out.
I bought the large pot which cost me £14.00 and it normally costs £28.99 so it was definitely a good bargain! I toyed with buying the smaller pot which was half the size Incase I didn't like it, but then decided if I love it I will wish I had bought the bigger pot. So that's what I done.

Of course this powder has been hyped up also because it is said that Kim kardashian loves to use this. And we all know how fab her contour and highlighting is.

The powder is super fine and on application feels really lightweight. I've mainly only used it underneath my eyes to help brighten them which I think it does really well. I will just pour a little out into the lid, swish my brush around, tap off any excess then apply. Because it is such a fine powder it doesn't go cakey like some powders do on me so that was an added bonus. I could literally put it on in the morning and not worry about it moving all day long.

I would definitely say if you find powders tend to sit in any lines you may have under your eyes or look cakey the banana powder is worth a go. The price may seem a lot to however you get soooo much and use so little at a time.
There is only one bad point to make about this powder and that's the pouring of it. The holes are quite big and because of the texture of the powder it comes out so quickly and is hard to then put back.

Babyliss Curl Secret

Hi Guys

This morning I actually had time to spend on my hair, instead of quickly blasting it dry and not doing a lot with it.
It was my sisters birthday party at the weekend and I had curled her hair using her new babyliss curl secret and I was super amazed at how quick and easy it was to use. And she conveniently left it here so it would be rude not to borrow it! Haha.
My sister is one that always struggles with curling her hair on her own but with this she has no problems.
So here's what it looks like..

It has 2 heat settings and 3 time settings to help you create different curls, with a ceramic barrel. And like I said before it's simple to use. You literally just grab a strand of hair (not too thick), clamp it inbetween and as you clamped down it automatically draws in the piece of hair round the barrel. Then it will start beeping at you depending on what settings you have it on, and when it's ready to be released you will hear a few constant beeps. And then ta dah you have the perfect curl. The Babyliss Curl Secret retails at around £119 depending where you buy it from and it is a lovely purple colour.
Below are 2 pictures of me once I had curled my whole head, and then after I had run my hands through the curls and styled them.

It's quick, simple and can give you instant curls in very few minutes. Worth a purchase in my eyes!

Makeup brush storage

Hi Guys

What do we think of this cute trio of pots?

I found this bargain in Tescos! It cost me just £1.75!! I am always on the look out for cute pots and anything else I can use for storage.
These are actually pots for plants but I decided it would make a super cute brush holder! And I think it's perfect! Excuse the fact that some of my brushes aren't clean (this is my next job lol).
There was also a quad of pots in either orange or yellow too which I nearly picked up but thought 3 pots in a row was cuter!

Dinner time!

Hi Guys

So how monotamous is making dinner every evening? Anyone else ever feel like they just can't be bothered sometimes!
I know I do! Especially when your trying to think of something different. I find I'm someone who gets stuck in a bit of a cycle now and then and feel the need break out! Haha!
Half of it also is sometimes having the time to make these lovely dinners. When your home late from work I find I just want something quick and easy to do! And I have found the solution for me!
The Maggie So Juicy sachets are just brilliant! They make a tea time much less boring and soooo much easier!
For anyone who has never tried one of these and have no idea what I'm talking about I will explain what they are. You literally buy one sachet, which contains a cooking bag in the top half and the bottom half contains the spice mix. On the front of the sachet it will tell you what you need, so for example tonight we had smokey BBQ ribs so all I needed to purchase was the ribs. You then put everything in the bag, sprinkle over the spice mix tie up the bag, give it a shake around to coat everything and put it in the oven for however long it needs! And that's it. They come out perfect everytime! The best thing about these, is that no matter what meat you put in them, it always always comes out so succulent and juicy as the name suggests! Nothing ever dries out!
They have a huge range of different dishes. One I can definitely recommend is the chicken balti. (As long as you don't mind a little spice). It's sooo yummy! One of mine and my other halts faves!
All I will say is if you haven't tried them yet, you must! :-)

Sunday review day - MUA blushers

Hi Guys

Today's review is as my title says above, in MUA blushers!
These blushers are amazing! AND they are only £1! It still amazes me to know how cheap these little beauties are and how bloody good they are!
You would normally just persume that a £1 blusher would maybe just be ok, and not be very pigmented! But you'd be wrong! They are so pigmented and a little goes a long way! They blend out on your cheeks really nicely too!
I would say everything you want in a blusher is what you can get in these £1 stars!
My favourite colours at the moment are Lolly which is a beautiful coral peach colour, and Cupcake which is a muted pinky peach!
They also do some cream blushers which I am yet to try but will definitely be purchasing!
Here's a picture of my fave blusher!
