Younique foundation - Yay or Nay?

Hey hey beauts!

Today I'm bringing you my thoughts on the famous Younique mineral touch liquid foundation!
I've used this several times now and I done my research on it before purchasing, to make sure I can give you a good solid review.

So we've all seen these videos going round on Facebook about how amazing the foundations coverage is. Covering acne, sharpie pen and even tattoos. You know me, I love a full coverage makeup look so this was something I definitely needed to try. However I know I'm late to the party on this one haha!
A friend of mine started doing younique so I chatted with her about all there different foundations and which one would be suited to my oily/combination skin. And she even colour matched me which is great as I had no clue what shade to choose. The shade she matched me to was velour and first off I have to say, the colour is perfect!

Along with this foundation they sell a brush to apply it with, however sophie (who I bought it from), said using my real techniques buffing brush would be fine too.
On opening the foundation I noticed it's only a 20ml bottle, where as standard size is 30ml. I do think the price of £30 for just 20ml is quite a lot, however I was prepared to give it the benefit of doubt because for all I know it could be a fantastic product. It is a very runny consistancy and must be shook before use. It has a pipette not a pump but applying it was fine.
So... the coverage. I really wasn't impressed! I know, shocking! I was told a little goes a long way so I only used 5 drops (which I've seen used in these 'amazing' videos). But it definitely wasn't enough for me, so I added more. It was definitely buildable which is lucky so I could get it to a decent coverage. BUT... (here it is guys), I didn't feel using the buffing brush was any good. It left streaks in my face. I ended up going over it with my beauty blender which made it sit nice on my skin.
It's classed as a liquid to powder finish however I still set my skin with powder as it felt it needed it.

Here's a picture of my makeup finished. (No flash/filter, just day light). I'll admit it photographed lovely.

Lastly, did it last all day?
For me personally, no. I found by late afternoon it was very worn around my chin and nose area. Not a good look! I really really wanted to love this foundation after all these good reviews I've seen and read. And yes I've definitely used it on many occasions with different techniques etc but it all results the same.

Out of 10 I personally score this a sad 5/10. What works for one doesn't work for all hey!

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo Review

Hey hey!

Ok time for another review. This time on a face cream. Quick disclaimer, I'm a member of Bzzagent so I got this sent to me via them.
For those of you not familiar with Bzzagent, they are a company online you can sign up with, and you fill in questionnaires and from time to time you'll get offered to join in a trial of a latest product. Which they then send you for free, and in return they just ask for your review. The products can totally vary I've not only had beauty products but also food items. So it's totally random.

The latest item I've received from them is the La Roche-posay Effaclar duo face cream.

I've done some reasearch on this cream and here's what it claims:

  • Clinically proven to correct the appearance of blemishes
  • Unclogs blocked pores
  • Helps to refine skin texture
  • Controls the appearance of shine
  • New - Fights against the appearance of marks.

  • For me this cream came at a perfect time. I swear since turning 30 my skin has just erupted. Worse than when I was a teenager. Mostly all round my chin and jaw line. So the deal with this is to cleanse skin and apply twice daily. Now to be honest with you I haven't always applied it twice a day however I have been applying it at least once a day. I can definitely say after 6 weeks I've noticed an improvement in my skin. I'm not getting blemishes as often and my scarring has definitely faded.
They cream is of light consistancy, and soaks into the skin quickly. A little goes a long way so the 40ml tube will last ages.
The product retails at £15.50 in Boots, and I can honestly say I will be purchasing this again. La Roche-posay have several products within the range that I'm looking at trying too. So thumbs up from me. Out of 10 I'd score this a solid 8/10.

    I'M BACK!

    Hey Hey!!

Yes I know what your thinking... it's been well over a year since I last posted! I'm sorry!

But I'm missing writing blogs, so i'm back. I feel this first one back is needed to catch up with you all! So where to start...

Well my biggest news, me and Paul got engaged Christmas Day 2015 and have our date set for this coming July! Literally on a count down. EEEK!
Everything is slowly but surely getting ticked off! I honestly never realised how difficult it is to arrange a wedding! SO many little things that you just don't think about!
I feel like all I think about is wedding stuff! Kinda looking forward to it all being done with. (Is that bad lol).

In all honesty 2016 was a bit of write off of a year for us. (Obviously apart from wedding planning).
We definitely had a tough year. Paul had a bad health scare at the start of the year and unfortunately the end of year bought us a loss of an important family member.

But onwards and upwards as they say. Life will always throw us some curve balls which we have to find a way to deal with and get on with. Life does carry on.

Starting this blog I thought I might have more to tell you, but thinking about it, between the bad times and planning the wedding we have just been plodding along haha. And whilst I'm sitting here writing this I'm thinking really I should be writing my invites!

So on that note I'm going to love you and leave you!💗

Autumn Fashion Wish List - Plus Size

    Hi guys

I've been trawling through the sites to find all the fab Autumn pieces that are about, and have come up with a few things I've added to my wish list.

As you probably know if you've been watching my YouTube videos recently, I've been very much into buying black and white. You can never go wrong with it right? Don't get me wrong I love colours too especially this time of year, with burnt orange and burgundy colour clothes everywhere.

So here's what I'm loving and wanting to purchase this season so far! Yes so far! I may add to these as time goes on haha!

These two gorgeous pieces are  both from Yours clothing. I'm loving checkered patterns like this dress. I've recently bought a shirt from primark in is print and love it! I like the the sleeves are almost more 3/4 than short for chillier days. It would look nice with tights and boots or even leggings if you prefer. It costs just £26! Yes that's a crazy price for a dress which would suit every occasion.

The grey marl cardigan which is long line and would just look so great paired with a black basic top, jeans and a pair of boots or even converse. It retails at £24 which again is a fab price. To be honest most of Yours clothing is well priced, and everything just lasts so well.

This waistcoat from new look is so on trend this season with tassels. There's tassels on so many pieces whether it's on clothes bags or boots. Again the colour of this waistcoat is perfect for Autumn and waistcoats are brilliant for layering up. It costs £19.99 which like I keep saying is a great price for a piece you can wear in so many ways.

This bag screams out Autumn to me. That burgundy colour is the first colour I think of when I think of Autumn. Although on the website its classed as 'cherry red'. It's from Peacocks and costs £18. I love the structure of it and it looks like it will hold a whole load of stuff. (Stuff being all the crap I carry around with me for no reason haha!). I also love the gold detailing too.

Boots! A must have for the Autumn/Winter season. There from New Look and cost £27.99. Again the colour is fab and will go with all different outfits. I just loved the detail around the ankle with buckles and chains. They do come in black too but I prefer this colour. The heel size is 3" but being a big block heal they would still be so comfy.

So I did mention I was loving checked patterns right? Haha!
The blue check shirt is from Peacocks and I love! It's one of those long line shirts which look fab with jeans and boots or you could wear a vest top underneath and use it as a thin jacket. Super versatile piece. It's £18 so great price too.

The next and last checked sleeveless shirt is also from New Look. It costs £14.99 and would be fab worn on a night out with some skinny jeans and heels. I'm definitely going to have to get this soon I think. It's black and white and checked, what's not to love hey!

Got2b Tame & Shine Hair Oil

    Hi guys!

Here's a new little gem for anyone out there, who like me feels there hair needs a boost!

Over the summer I've had a lot of bleach put in my hair, and at first it seemed to feel great. My friend and hairdresser used a different bleach that is actually kinda to your hair. But over time, and especially the last time my hair just felt quite dry!
I have to admit I don't think my holiday helped. Sun, sea and pools aren't great for good conditioned hair!

Anyhow my friend used this last time and I decided to buy it to use regularly to see if it helped.

I've now been using it for around 2 weeks and already I have noticed a difference.
This oil can be used in either damp or dry hair. I tend to use it in dry hair as I always use my Aussie take the heat conditioning spray. So once I've dried and styled my hair, I put just one pump into the palm of my hands, warm it up, then just work it through my mid-lengths and ends.

It leaves my hair looking healthy and shiny but also works its magic on helping to repair my locks. If your feeling like your hair could do with a boost then I'd definitely recommend this product to you!

    Autumn Tag!

    Hi guys

It's that lovely time of the year once again! Hands up, who loves autumn? I know I do! As much as I love summer, bbqs and tanning, there's something nice about cooler evenings and crunchy leaves!

Anyway I saw this tag on YouTube and the questions were made up by the gorgeous Jaclyn Hill. So I thought I'd do a blog version instead of making a video.

    Here goes..
    1-Favourite candle?
For me I love the Kringle American Appke Pie candle. The smell is so warming and the light cinnamon fragrance gets me excited for Christmas!

    2-Favourite Lip colour?
Obviously a dark lip is standard in autumn right? I'm loving the Freedom Makeup lipstick in the shade 'Adorn'. Perfect berry colour! If I want to vamp it up a little, I go for the darker shade 'Smoulder' from Sleek.

    3-Favorite Drink?
You can't beat a good cup of tea in my eyes and I've never been one for all these different flavoured coffees. Mainly because I don't need another naughty treat in my diet that I'll get addicted to! Haha!

    4-Favourite blush?
I tend to stick to some shades that I wear all year really. Although I do love the more plummy tones. These two end ones in this Kryolan palette are lovely.

    5-Favourite clothing item?
Scarfs! It just has to be. I find myself accessorising every outfit with one. There my go to transitional piece to keep me that little bit warmer in those cooler days.

    6-Favourite fall movie?
Well it's definitely got to be a scary movie! Sometimes it will depend what's new out over Halloween. Or I'll dig up some oldies from my collection! I haven't got 1 favourite. Although did enjoy the Saw movies.

    7-Favorite fall TV show?
I don't think I have a particular show I like to watch anytime of the year to be honest.

    8-Favourite thanksgiving food?
Obviously in the UK we don't do thanksgiving, just Christmas. So I thought I'd just pick my favourite part of a Christmas dinner. Hmm...ermm... It's so hard! I LOVE Christmas dinner! Maybe the roast potatoes, or the sausages wrapped in bacon! Can't decide!

    9-Favorite Halloween costume?
I have to admit I haven't dressed up for Halloween in years. But if I went to a party this year I'd probably go as a zombie/dead person/accident victim. Purely because I could get super creative with makeup!

So that's all the questions! If you fancy doing this tag then please do whether it be in blog or vlog style!

Carrot Oil Gel - by Sun Tropic

    Hi guys!

Anyone else heard of this? I hadn't until my holiday! However now I'd buy it every time we go away.

Myself and Paul both LOVE getting a good tan. Before we went on holiday the weather forecast wasn't looking great and we were both a bit like oh no we want a tan lol. Luckily there were wrong and it was mostly a beautiful week. But because of what the forecast had said we had decided not to bother weighing our cases down with extra sun cream and after sun lotions. We said if it turns out nice we will just buy some out there!

As you may know from reading my holiday blog post the first couple days were a bit of a no go on the tanning front, but from the Friday onwards it was fab. I think because of losing those 2 days worth of tanning we decided to not worry about sun cream and just try and get the best tan we could!
Yes yes yes I know you should always be protected in the sun blah blah but generally were both pretty hardy and don't burn so we said sod it!

It was the Friday Paul spotted the carrot oil gel in our local Spanish supermarket and it was only €3.95 (Approx £2.89) so we thought yea why not! It says clearly in the bottle that is has no protection In it, it purely accelerates tanning.

The texture seemed to be an oily gel, however as you were rubbing it in, it just melted into your skin leaving no sticky or oiliness. Which I loved as usually with 'oils' your skin stays greasy which drives me mad! The smell was a typical sun cream smell of coconuts. It just said to apply liberally which we done for the week.

One thing we both noticed whilst using it was that our skin felt so soft and moisturised. Literally the best it's felt in ages. Extra brownie point for the product.

We had laughed when we started using it saying just imagine if by the end of the week were still not tanned as such just orange from the carrots! That would have been funny! But luckily we both came home with a fab tan! Which I have had so many compliments on.

One last thing to mention about this product is that my tan has lasted so well since coming home. I'm normally one for losing my tan almost as soon as I land! Ok bit of an exaggeration but I do lose it quickly. But I still look lovely and sun kissed brown.

Definitely a repurchase for our next holiday for sure!
